Casey Johnson, beim SX-Cup für das Yamaha Kurz Casola Team unterwegs,
gilt als einer der Favoriten bei der deutschen Supercross Serie. Er gewann
das Freitags-Finale. Tags darauf sprachen wir mit ihm....
wasserwerfer.de: How does it feel to win the first race here in Germany?
Johnson: Feels pretty good, I rode really good in my semi-finals. In the
finals I made a lot of mistakes, so my arms they tightened up a little
bit... so I feel good, I'm happy over here in Germany, my Team Yamaha-Kurz
has a very good bike so.. I'm happy!
wasserwerfer.de: Do you ride especially Supercross-Races?
Johnson: We have tracks - local tracks - you know like a litte bit bigger
to practice on for Supercross. This one (Anm: Track in Stgt.) is a little
bit tighter than my usual riding, but it's good, I like this, it's Arenacross
it's.... good! I've ridden some Arenacrosses in the States and I like
them...

Is this your first time riding in Europe?
Johnson: I raced in 1997/98 in Czechoslowakia, two races Supercross, so...
but this is the first time in Germany.
wasserwerfer.de: What do you think about the track is it difficult?
Johnson: Yeah, cause it's tacky, the dirt is sticky... so it is difficult,
the jumps get ruts in the face of it, so it makes it more difficult, but
the track it is tough...
wasserwerfer.de: Do have any more Supercross-Races this winter?
Johnson: I'm gonna race the whole German Series (Anm: SX-CUP) , the Supercross-Series
here and I maybe race a couple of Supercrosses in the states and then
train more for outdoors...
wasserwerfer.de: Do you have any freestyle experiences... so far?
Johnson: No, no freestyle for me - it's to disgracing....
wasserwerfer.de: Your plans for next year?
Johnson: I'm still talking to a couple of people `bout racing the Nationals
in the States, so hopefully I get a good ride... do very good in the Nationals,
maybe some races in the states - Supercross - maybe come back here again
we'll see
wasserwerfer.de: and what about tonight? (Anm. Samstag Nacht)
Johnson: Tonight? Hopefully everything will go the same as last night..
